How do I get the word out there?
Is my idea really that unique?
Who would even buy this?
How do I stop someone from stealing my idea?
Is working from my kitchen table okay?
What if everything just falls apart?
What tech stuff do I need to figure out right now?
How will I know if I’m actually making it?
Where do I want this to go, like, really?

"What is a startup, anyway? Is it different than a small business?"
"I think I might have a possibly good idea — now what?"
"Alright, but how do I actually make money?"
Sometimes, just hearing others talk about their challenges and how they overcame them can be super inspiring. We hope you find motivation in the stories of others who’ve been in your shoes and made their vision a reality
You’ll find that boost in self-belief that comes from understanding the process more clearly — and learning from others how they did it. Hearing success stories and practical advice will help you feel more prepared and less isolated in your journey.
You’ll walk away with concrete steps you can take to move your idea forward. It’s all about turning the “what ifs” into “what next” — understanding the logistics of starting a business, from funding to marketing and beyond.
Kaylan is a serial entrepreneur, content creator, closet poet, and a marketing super-sleuth who loves to help brands find ways to build better communities. She's tried her hand at a lot of things, but always moves on to the next once boredom hits. She's co-hosting this podcast because she wants to ask all of her dumb, basic questions of startup geniuses who have done the thing and kept going to make their business grow and last. And, as they always say, if you want to be in a room with Seth Godin, start a podcast and invite him on the show.

Tiffany has a deep love for hobbies and a long history of rapid hyperfixation. Last week was learning to sew tote bags, and next week is learning how to cook new dishes. She has a fun background in specialty coffee and a love for making latte art. One hobby that will always be with her is reading. Anything from Greek myth to celebrity memoir. Lately she’s been picking up more and more books about a completely foreign topic to her- startups. She’s here to ask, who what when where and why, and how she can help others learn, too? When not wrapped up in a new book she can often be found hiking, singing in the car, or rewatching classics such as LOST or Futurama.

So here we are. Starting conversations with the founders around us, the business owners across from us, and the mentors next to us — and bringing those conversations to your headphones so you can get inspired to take your next step.
Yet, we both found ourselves working with (and getting hella inspired by) startup founders every single day at Sprocket, an entrepreneurial hub and startup incubator in Paducah, KY. And we realized one thing — these people are just like us — people with drive, an idea, and grit. The one difference? They’re out there doing the thing. And we’re on a mission to learn how they got started.
